A Word From J.D. on "Hometown Heroes"...
"I have been privileged to have had a glimpse into the lives and experiences of two American soldiers. I was blessed with the gift of their personal wartime journals which ultimately became the inspiration for the songs on this CD.
Sharing my music with and for our troops is an amazing experience. I look forward to touring and performing at US military bases again this year. I am honored to have met so many of our brave men and women in the military along with their families. Please remember to thank our veterans past and present. They are our protectors - they are our heroes - they are the rock stars!"
Peace & Blessings -
About "Hometown Heroes"...
J.D.'s latest release "Hometown Heroes" is a country-rock musical journal of her experiences from her touring and commitment to supporting our troops.
There is something special and unique about this project... These songs were inspired by the real life wartime journals of two American soldiers. Fallen soldier U.S. Army Spc. Michael Lane Stansbery, Jr. and U.S. Marine Corps Combat Veteran Tom Whelan.
The songs take the listener from the homefront to the frontline to coming home. The title track, "Hometown Hero" was written to honor the memory of 21 year old, U.S. Army Spc. Michael Lane Stansbery, Jr. He was killed while serving his country in Kandahar, Afghanistan. He died of injuries from an improvised explosive device. Michael was the nephew of the founder of Forgotten Soldiers Outreach. J.D. in an honorary board member of this non-profit organization which sends care packages to our troops overseas.
This CD is a tribute to Michael's memory and a thank you to all of our troops and veterans.
